Old Potts store in Long Cane, Troup County, GA

I discovered this little store a few years ago and the Potts family that own it kindly allowed me to review the ledgers listing their former customers.

There was Annie Wilkinson Haralson’s name in the ledger. She was my great grandfather’s sister. I wonder if there will be any trace of me left behind?

  • The other side of the potts family from moses Potts who had Frank Potts, james Potts Efriam Potts was my great great grandfather, George Potts, was my great grandfather ,Carrie potts,, was my great grand mother married and had 6 children my grand mother was named Myrtle Potts they moved to Indiana where we reside today . The store was built from the plantation house after slavery was abolished . Moses Potts has land that went to his wife and children, there was also a Potts Rd. We will be looking more into the land which is suppose to go to all descendants, and not to be sold because they where giving to slaves who fought for their freedom . I have grant No’s of each plot of land and that is rightfully ours . Thank You for this information to add to my families chapter .
